East coast solidarity summer (ECSS)East Coast Solidarity Summer (ECSS) is for youth-ish folks connected to South Asia/South Asian histories with an interest in learning together in a social justice-oriented and anti-oppressive space. This year we are departing from ECSS's past structure, and are inviting people to apply to our collective as cohort members. We have detailed ECSS's changes over the past 2 years, our vision for 2020, and our thought process behind it all in the document linked below. We recommend giving it a thorough read before applying!

What is SOUTH ASIAN AND ITS INDENTURED DIASPORA?
DCDS 2009 Participants and Facilitators
ECSS is a community reflecting people with histories and migrations connected to Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bhutan, and the Maldives. But the diaspora spreads all over the world, from Fiji to Trinidad,Guyana, Kenya, to the Persian Gulf, from South Africa, Suriname, to the East Coast and many places in between.
We are inspired by Youth Solidarity Summer in New York, RadDesi Summer in Texas, Organizing Youth in California, the Bay Area Solidarity Summer, South Asian Summer Solidarity for Youth in Boston, Desh Pardesh in Toronto, Chicago Desi Youth Rising, South Asian Youth in Houston Unite, and Southern Desi Summer in Atlanta.
